Brick home pros and cons
What are the advantages and disadvantages of brick homes?
Weather and fire resistant. Bricks can stand up to almost all weather, if you are choosing brick it you will be choosing it for its durability. No need to worry about bricks becoming kindling either they are naturally fire resistant making fires easier to contain.

Eco friendly. Bricks are made from clay and shale to which there is no shortage on earth. Used bricks also have many uses, besides being reused they can be ground up and used for landscaping mulch etc.

Low maintenance. Once the house is built bricks require little maintenance besides the upkeep of their look. Bricks are durable and retain their colour much better than alternatives.

Colour limitations. There is some variety in colour when it comes to bricks but not as much as your timber alternatives. Bricks can also be painted but aesthetically it isn’t advisable.

Expensive. Bricks require a lot more labour and materials compared to alternatives which makes them costlier to use.
