Arguments for duck hunting
What are the arguments for and against duck hunting?
Most people consume meat where the animals are obviously killed and most of the time in inhumane ways. Hunting especially duck hunting will result in the death of an animal but in a quicker painless way than most critics’ meat animals will be.
pro
Native species in danger. Most hunters don’t realize the ducks they hunt are native species where they have developed in a balanced ecosystem and hunting even a little risks putting them in danger.
con
Duck hunting is sustainable. There is no need to worry about overhunting when it comes to duck hunting. The duck’s natural population plus the regulations and conservation that has been in place for years lessens any environmental impact.
pro
Bad for the environment. The conservationist hunter is a myth, if you take a look at the wetlands after a hunt you find beer cans, shotgun shells and decoys everywhere because the average hunter has little concern for the environment.
con
Ducking hunting is a beneficial recreational activity. There are three areas duck hunting has benefits to the community. Economically the sport generates revenue, socially it gives people an activity to do together and environmentally the hunters are big on conservation to maintain the quality of their activity.
pro
Good for conservation. Duck hunters are at the forefront of wetland conservation caring for the areas and raising money every year to reinvest in the ecosystem’s sustainability.
