Are UFOS real?
Evidence. As with any claims in our world they must be backed up by evidence. If evidence is lacking we taking people’s words for it and even if not being intentionally deceptive their credibility comes into question. The one thing common in all UFO claims is suspicious and low quality evidence.
Drake’s equation does not factor visitation. The Drake equation, which uses several variables to determine the likelihood and number of worlds with intelligent life, says in our galaxy the range of inhabited world’s could be from 100-1 million. However, to use this as an argument for extra-terrestrial visitation one must note none of the variables included say anything about visitation. So if we are generous and accept the large end of the range, 1 million, another factor to determine their visitation of Earth could be nil.
Astronaut claims. Reputable people, who have actually been to outer space, have on numerous occasions claimed to have seen things that cannot be explained away. Some of these claims have been from the likes of Dr. Brian O’Leary, Cady Coleman and even ‘Buzz’ Aldrin said in the past during the Apollo 11 missions peculiar things were flying alongside them during the journey.
Ockham’s razor. Ockham’s razor would suggest visitors from outer space should be the last in a long line of progressive explanations. The phenomena we see can more easily and explained as man’s technology such as weather balloon’s or missile tests, cloud formations, Venus etc.
Historical evidence. Often skeptics explain away unexplained phenomena by suggesting it could be man made technology. But there is much evidence throughout history before the times of man’s superior technology that cant be explained by this. The Madonna of Saint Giovaninni created in the 15th century depicts the Virgin Mary and in the background a man and his dog pointing up towards a suspicious disk in the sky. Other similar anomalies can be found in cave paintings historical records and ancient religious texts.
